Elvie is a fine jewelry line designed and created by Christine Bartolillo, in New York City. The name “Elvie” honors her great grandmother, a talented garment maker by trade, whose diamond wedding band and name plate bracelet first sparked this love affair with jewelry. Coming from a long line of natural creators, Christine followed in her grandmother’s footsteps when becoming a hair stylist, and now parallels her grandfather's journey, who forged and welded metal as a sculptor.

Christine draws inspiration from the exceptional shapes and settings of vintage pieces, and she has a particular affinity for the glow of colored gemstones. She seeks to blend delicate, feminine elements with bold, masculine details, creating pieces that feel substantial yet elegant.

Christine is a GIA alumn, with certifications in both diamonds and colored stones, and is actively working towards her Graduate Gemologist diploma. Many pieces are hand-carved and cast using the lost wax method, resulting in an organic, one-of-a-kind charm. Other pieces are designed with precise symmetry using CAD technology, and some combine both methods. With formal training in metalsmithing and stone setting, Christine finishes many of her pieces by hand in her home studio. She also collaborates with a select group of master stone setters and other industry artists, all on 47th street in NYC’s famed diamond district, to ensure every detail is expertly crafted.

In the words of her grandfather-

"Bending and shaping, pulling from inanimate substances sculptures not of impulse or a successful accident, rather sculptures born of the mind and developed through days of discipline, respect to the idea, and joy to the artist.

An artist must live with and within himself. He must reach out, touch, digest, and bring forth the sum of the world around him blended with the world inside him.

If you look for novelty, you will not find it here. If you look for false meaning, you will not find it here."
